In the past few years Cech has performed numerous rebuilds and deck replacements on pit type truck scales. Generally, the I-beams are in decent shape but the weighing components and deck are in poor condition. If this is the case, then a deck replacement might be the answer.
Based on our experience with truck scale rebuilds; it costs between $28 and $30 a square foot to replace the deck and recalibrate your scale. This includes deck removal, deck disposal, c-channel, rebar, manholes, concrete and calibration service. Repair parts are not included in the pricing above but are pretty easy to specify when the deck is removed.
Cech Corporation also owns a portable rental truck scale that can be used during these types of repairs. This equipment was put into our rental fleet to assist customers who need lengthy repairs but cannot be without a truck scale. We drastically discount the rental charges we would normally apply to customers who use our services. Even if you wish to ‘do it yourself’ our rental truck scale can be provided at great monthly rates.
